Located in Central Texas, Austin is the capital of the Lone Star State and its fourth-largest city. From 2000 until 2006 it was the nation's third-fastest-growing large city. The city is home to enough major technology corporations to have earned it the nickname "Silicon Hills."

Selected as the No. 2 Best Big City in "Best Places to Live" by Money magazine in 2006 (No. 3 in 2009) and the "Greenest City in America" by MSN, Austin was also voted America's #1 College Town by the Travel Channel.

From tapas to trendy, from fast food to slow cooking, Austin's restaurant scene is gaining a reputation for daring dining and culinary greatness. Home to legendary music festivals SXSW and Austin City Limits as well as the lower key, but highly respected Old Settler's Music Festival, Austin is well regarded as "The Live Music Capital of the World."
