San Antonio

Located in the northern part of South Texas, San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas, the seventh largest in the U.S., and home of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. The city is also home to Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, and Brooks City-Base, with Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley nearby.

But San Antonio is more than just a military town. It has five Fortune 500 companies as well as the prestigious South Texas Medical Center, the region's only medical research center. San Antonio has a diversified economy comprised mostly of financial services, government, health care, and tourism.

"Remember the Alamo!" The former Roman Catholic mission and fortress is maintained as a shrine and museum located in the heart of downtown. Across the street from the Alamo is the world famous Crockett Hotel, named after the legendary pioneer Davy Crockett. The jewel of the city is the River Walk, which meanders through the downtown area and offers tourists a world-class shopping and dining experience.
